The IT giant Microsoft, the leading video game publisher Eidos, and the creator of the Fabled Lands book-game series, have partnered to revive the popular game book of the 80s in the form of a blockchain card game.
According to the press release, the new game will be called the Arena of Death and will be based on the book The Way of the Tiger, whose readers are invited to go to certain pages for execution quests.
It felt like the right time. We were going to relaunch the series into a computer game format but this new technology (blockchain), just made more sense. Imagine playing Magic the Gathering but knowing if you owned a card, it really does belong to you. Or if we say there are only 100 editions of an item or skill, you know there really are only 100 editions.

In the new project, the developers intend to use non-interchangeable tokens, which are used, for example, in the game CryptoKitties. Their release will be carried out on the VeChain Thor blockchain, which is associated mainly with initiatives in the field of logistics. The developers explain their choice with the ability of this blockchain to “scale and create maps and objects without the need” to go into the essence of the functioning of the technology.
